Helpful Recipes and Cook's Tips, Cooking Memories, Postcards from Brian
This PotPourri Section of the website is a blend of "Odds n Ends" of helpful recipes and cook's tips; chit-chat from my cook's journal; Postcards from Brian; and memories from everyday life running a Bed-and-Breakfast hotel in England for 13 years! The Maple Hotel was a wonderful experience and we have some very fond memories of our life during this time. The Maple was located in Wigan, England (Brian's hometown), and the adventures of running this lovely hotel gave us some fantastic memories. I'm sure these experiences helped contribute to the basic idea of this website, wherein we share recipes from around the globe. These dishes came from around the world, as did many of the guests who came to The Maple Hotel. But I think the best part of the hotel stay for our guests were the FULL English breakfasts served every morning!

Everyone's favorite Irishman gives you little anecdotes and tid-bits of interesting information from everyday's life experiences; here in Stockton and his journeys and travel experiences. I also have family photos and memories shared from our tamale making days over the years; from when we started in Pittsburg, Ca at the family home on Crivello Ave.; and then continuing on up in Sonora, CA at my brother Felix's home. We have been making 60+ doz. tamales in the past few years; lots of work, but lots of fun and a chance for the family to get together and share for one full day of hard work; but with the end result being delicious.
